It is with deepest sorrow that we acknowledge the passing of Marla Renae Hodge, a dedicated CRNP at Hearts South, PC, and a beloved resident of Wicksburg. Marla’s sudden departure at the age of just 42 has left her family, friends, colleagues, and the community in profound grief. Her passing is a heartbreaking loss that words can hardly express, especially for her husband Steve and their precious children, who are in our thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
Marla was a compassionate and talented nurse, committed to caring for others with kindness and professionalism. Her dedication to her patients and her unwavering compassion made her a valued member of the healthcare community. A proud graduate of Auburn University’s nursing program, Marla exemplified excellence and empathy in her work, always striving to make a difference in the lives she touched. Her commitment to her profession, combined with her warm spirit, made her a source of comfort and hope for those she served.
Her sudden passing has left an undeniable void, and her loved ones are navigating a period of immense grief. We are grateful to the Hodge family for entrusting Glover Funeral Home and Crematory of Dothan to care for Marla’s arrangements. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, May 4, 2026, at Bay Springs Baptist Church, with Reverend Tommy Green and Reverend Dustin Wisecaver officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory.
As we reflect on Marla’s life, we remember her as a bright light who touched everyone around her. Her legacy of compassion, strength, and dedication will continue to inspire those who knew her. We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, especially her children, and hope they find comfort in the love and support of their community. May Marla Hodge rest in eternal peace, and may her loved ones find solace in the cherished memories they hold.
